From top-class luxury hotels, to hostels and camping, Manchester has it all. Great last minute deals can be found online – perfect if you’re heading into the city for a football match and need to be close to the grounds. There are also plenty of well know hotel chains springing up around Manchester airport, which are ideally located for visitors only staying a short while. If you’re intent on experiencing everything Manchester has to offer, however, there’s a fantastic array of city centre boutique hotels, which provide that little something extra for a weekend break. Boutiques are kind of a mix between high-end hotels and a B&B, they have a more personal touch and are usually one of a kind.

For the more independent traveller, why not try out a serviced apartment? They offer long or short term lets, making sure you feel welcomed and at home whilst staying in the city. They’re perfect for families or groups on holiday, as they provide much more room than a hotel or B&B, and also make it easy to self cater in order to keep costs down. Another popular choice for group travel, including stag and hen parties, is a hostel stay. Although they might not have the best reputation, hostels have come a long way since they were first introduced to England in the late 1920’s. Most hostels are not far from what you could consider a hotel, some have en-suites, all night reception, and it’s all bound to be at great value low prices. They are usually happy to accommodate groups in dormitory style rooms, too.

If you’d prefer not to share too much with your fellow travellers, and perhaps you’re looking for a bit of pampering on your holiday, there are several well known luxury establishments in the centre of Manchester. Splash out a little more cash and you could find yourself staying at the Hilton, The Radisson, or the five star Lowry, named after one of the city’s most famous sons, artist L.S. Lowry.
